A couple of guys took a program designed to shift between polar and Cartesian geometries, and hacked into into a program that will "flatten" out images. In this case, these panoramas look as if they were taken while standing in the middle of a flower. More flowers can be seen here. The same effect applied to chandeliers can be seen here.

I wish they took the extra step to turn these into one of those 3d panorama things, but very cool nonetheless.

No effort is made to disguise the fact that the images are manipulated, in fact, the entire premise of the entry is to highlight the software process used to create these image.

PHenomenal photos but im surprised he doesn't say what kind of flowers they are. I think the first one is a passion flower vine and the last one is pickerelweed.

The first one there (Passionflower) grows in my back yard. It looks no less alien without fancy editing techniques. But wow, that's a neat angle. I really like how those came out.
