Does it even matter? Shouting at the deaf accomplishes nothing. Changing the opinion of people that might not necessarily agree, or understand, what's going on in the middle-east isn't going to happen by interrupting an ambassador at your college forum. Sure, lots of people will see the video, but how many people will walk away thinking, "Yeah, they have a point, and I'd like to subscribe to their newsletter."

For 5 or 10 minutes until they mention money, lifestyle, etc. People will always align themselves with other people who are like them in some way, and fight against those who aren't. Always.

From both sides? Seems to me there's 3 sides here: The University, the protester, and the Ambassador. The Ambassador was remarkably level-headed, the protesters were complete asshats, and the University was forced into the position of being the gym teacher at an out of control high school pep rally. And if you listened all the way through, Ambassador Oren makes it very clear that he wished the protesters would have been allowed to stay.
I don't know. Maybe you see serious dialog attempting to bridge a seemingly irreconcilable gap as sad, but I don't.
It still doesn't make me want to kill you though.
The three things I listed are sort of the root. I mean, I can't see lifestyle being a problem without religion saying certain things are bad, or money being an issue if your country doesn't matter. Hell, I'm broke as fuck right now, and I still get along with my blue-blood family just fine.

National security is dependent on a lot of factors, the situation in the Middle East being one of them. 9/11 should have taught us that it's impossible to close our eyes to what's going on in the rest of the world and not expect it to have an impact on our lives. Apart from the ethical issues, THAT'S why you should give a fuck about what happens to them.

Regardless of the issue, regardless of the outside parties involved, protests on college campuses are nearly always this. A lot of them aren't even pissed off, just looking to get laid by associating themselves with militant protests.
You can spot them by their Che T-Shirts.

The violence between Palestine and Israel in our generation is almost entirely the fault of the Israeli governments foreign policy towards their neighbors. Often those people who are the hawkish defenders of the Isreali state call this view antisemitic, but I can't understand anyone with a critical eye and a little knowledge of history coming to a vastly different conclusion.

Umm, what I meant was that events in other parts of the world can impact on the lives of Americans. There's an argument for letting other countries deal with their own problems but there's also a counter argument for interventionism too. I'm not saying I'm on one side or the other but I think it's important enough to "give a shit about". Especially in the case of the Middle East as it's such a volatile region and therefore a hotbed of extremism.
