The latter half of the 20th century saw the built environment merged with media space, and architecture taking on new roles related to branding, image and consumerism. Augmented reality may recontextualise the functions of consumerism and architecture, and change in the way in which we operate within it. (via)

It's too early for me to be awake, so I'll just say this: Thank you for filing this under WTmotherF and not Art. That is all.

For being so fancy, why does the display keep flickering? I haven't seen a computer display flicker like that since, well, ever.

Seriously. You always see that in movies too, with stuff like holographic displays.
It's future technology! It should be MORE reliable. That would drive me nuts to use if it was flickering static every 30 seconds.

this vid is probably how daily life in 2010 would look to someone from 1910.. though i hope we'll never need a graphic reminder to know when to pee
We used to remind my grandpa. At lease graphics won't forget to remind you.

Fuck that shit. If we need graphic reminders of our bladder contents and instructions on how to pour hot water over a tea bag then we're better off nuking ourselves back to the stone age. At least then we'd actually have to TRY to exist. Idiocracy in full force.

MIT is actually working on glasses that do just this... albeit not that extreme yet.
But it is a reality NOW where you can wear these glasses, go to the grocery store and see price comparison and reviews/ratings on any product you look at on the shelf.
