Professional Can Tossing

It surely took thousands of attempts for these guys to hit the trash with their cans on the first toss, every single time. And, while it's clearly staged, the effect of seeing all these shots back to back is kinda cool.

I am thinking that they've weighted their cans with a rock or sand, for a more stable trajectory.

I really appreciated the no look, behind the back shots the required people to move out of the way naturally for the can to go in. Lots of retries, I'm sure.

I'm fine with them weighting the can as long as there isn't a piece of fishing line attached too for extra "guidance".

hmm. i'd think photoediting the cans to go in the trash bins would be a lot more work than tossing them a few dozen times to do it legit. reminds me of a similar basketball throwing video.

the one where the guy kicks the can across the street with minimal touch (around 1:42) had to be shopped no way he got that much power in to the kick - hence the rest are probably shopped too

And it's the only time it will ever happen. It's like calling a bullseye and hitting it when you're mediocre at darts. Just act smug and never try to do it again.

Leave on a high note.

That said, I dig the can-tossing and wish I had that skill.

This reminds me of this time I was being forced to play basketball in phys ed back in hs. I was missing every single shot because I hate basketball and never play it, and then I tried the shot where you stand with your back facing the hoop and throw it backwards over your head, but I was over half court away from the hoop, and it SWOOSHED RIGHT IN. I was vindicated!!!

Yeah I noticed that too...but that was one of the easiest shots in the whole video. Why would they take the time to fake that one when they easily could've done a few takes and gotten it legitimately?

Anyway, it would be sweet if I could be walking down the street and nonchalantly toss a can into a garbage can accross the street. I would probably wait to throw things away until I had to go somewhere so I could show off my skills.

And I just thought of a way to pick up chicks!! You could hang around a trash can or go to a fast food place, waiting to encounter a cute girl with some trash. Just say "let me get that from you" and before she can answer "no thanks, I'll do it myself" you grab her trash and toss it behind your back into a trash can 30 feet away!

Or if you already have the girl and you're set to go on your first date, go to a movie and blatantly try to carry a can of soda in with you. When they tell you you're not allowed to do that, you chuck that thing like a mofo to a trash can to everyone's amazement.

God, there are so many practical applications to this that I almost want to quit studying for the MCAT and train myself in the art of can throwing.

After looking at it a bit closer, it appears that the cameraman is inside a bus-stop or telephone booth or something of the like. If you look slightly to the right of the trash can, there is a verticle line of sorts that appears to be reflection off the plexiglass/glass/whatever.

Stevie Wonder performs his song "Superstition" on Sesame Street. There's so much awesome in this video, it's hard to believe as kids we didn't idolize this guy. I wish I could have experienced the 70's as something other than a child.
