22 Dec '08: The Peppermint Mocha Twist at Starbucks is a new favorite of mine. No whipped cream, maybe a half shot of espresso instead of the full one because it can be so strong. To that lady my wife and I were waited on a couple nights ago: when you are told to make a Mocha Truffle and you give my wife a hot chocolate, you can't "fix" it by dropping a shot and a half of espresso in the cup. Throw the drink away and make her a new one, damn it.

We feel sad that your city is going through hell right now. It must really stink to have a football team as dysfunctional and messed-up as you do. You have a quarterback who's anti-social, teammates taking potshots at him, a coach that was fired BECAUSE of said quarterback and virtually no hope for the future. We can't imagine what that must feel like.

6 Jan '09: Thanks to another awesome loss by Ohio State in January, I was able to muster a good enough letter to be read during the Jim Rome Show, my first ever.

23 Jan '09: Found a new Rock Band drum set at GameStop last night for thirty bucks. Since my wife and I have put together the band set piece by piece, leaving the drums as the final part, I thought this would be a good deal. So I picked it up. I must say, though, that I hate these things. I'm not willing to throw hundreds of bucks into the Ion set, but if the price difference is any indicator of quality, then the Rock Band drums are absolute garbage. Not only are they loud, but I have to slam the pads to get a response. I think I'll just stick with the guitars and vocals 'til we have a group of people over to use the drums.
