Where the hell is this'Druid' place, anyway?
You don't honestly expect the Calgarians to drive north, do you?

You don't honestly expect the Calgarians to drive north, do you?
A seven year old boy from Toronto was at the centre of a courtroom drama in an Ontario Superior Courthouse this morning when he challenged a court ruling over who should have legal custody over him.
The boy had a history of being beaten repeatedly by both parents and the judge had previously awarded custody to the boy's aunt. The boy confirmed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and refused to live there. When the judge then suggested that he be placed with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they beat him more severely than anyone.
The judge, in an unprecedented ruling, dramatically allowed the boy, in spite of his youth and obvious inexperience, to make his own choice as to who should have legal guardianship over him.
In front of a packed and cheering courtroom this morning, custody was subsequently granted to the Toronto Maple Leafs as the boy stated his firm belief that they are, in point of fact, not capable of beating anyone.

Awesome. Printing this right now to take to work tonight with me - lots of Leafs fans there, and the boys are always smack talking eachother about hockey
The Druid is kinda a pub/bar in the evening the music gets turned up and the place usually gets packed on a weekend that's downtown on Jasper ave and 116 st.

Likewise. We rather you keep your pretentious, triple-venti-non-fat-with-whip-cream-latte drinking, shit-don't-stink asses down there.
How cute, Albertans trying to put on airs.
North and South - may the lines be drawn!!

Meh. Lines were drawn long time ago. Calgarians can't get over it.
Albertans need to stay united...so they all can pick on Toronto. We're used to it.

Shhhh! Spies aren't supposed to reveal themselves...aw man, CSIS is gonna have your ass in a sling...
Will never happen - I'm in a secret location
You don't have to be from Alberta to rag on Toronto.
Hating T.O. is what unites T.R.o.C.
yeah, hating TO is every Canadian's duty..
And yet somehow we all end up living there at some point and finding out it's not as bad as we thought.
it's pretty terrific

I was born and raised in Edmonton and have lived there for probably 22 years. Lived in GP for 2 years, now living in Calgary for the past 4 years.
Not to create a war or anything but in all honesty, I like Calgary more. Calgary seems more like a capital city by the layout, the businesses, and the people. Edmonton seems more blue collarish while Calgary is more white collar to me. Calgary seems to have nicer malls too....Edmonton has WEM and South Common, but the malls in Calgary seem newer and more modern. Also, Edmonton doesn't really have a trendy area to shop in like the Mission, 17th Ave, Stephen Ave, Inglewod's in Calgary. Don't say Whyte Ave either cause I consider that a bar/restaurant street more than shopping. Also, what is up with Gateway Blvd?? The portion near United Cycle, it's supposed to be a main road way but my god, that is one ugly stretch of pavement. It's like driving down an extremely wide alleyway and it doesn't help that Edmonton made an half-assed attempt at "beautifying" it with sparse potted plants and........colorful buffalo...
Chinatown in Calgary is also much nicer and feels safer walking around in at night time. There is no comparison at all between the dim sum and Chinese BBQ between Calgary and Edmonton. Edmonton, however, has vastly superior Vietnamnese subs and donairs than Calgary. Donair King in south edmonton near that bowling center kicks so much ass.
Calgarians and Edmontonians do agree that TO sucks though.

We can argue for days about which city is better, as I do have points to counter all of yours (having lived in Calgary for a year), but I think this thread should be about embracing being Canadian rather than hating our Canadian cousins.
Toronto isn't that bad. They just get all the media attention and have big heads because of it. That and the greatest hockey team in the world plays there. Celebrating mediocrity since 1967! LOL. I actually feel sorry for the Leafs.
And make fun of Americans..don't forget that part.

Is it really that expensive to ship across borders? I've done and it hasn't seemed too prohibitive.
I think heiders is in my city, isn't she? Couldn't I just leave a package in the Eaton Centre and if she gets it before people think it's suspicious, it's all hers?
Calgary Flames skip flu vaccine lineups
Gee, I'll take "Shitbag PC MLA's from Calgary" for $300, Alex.
The province is investigating how some Calgary Flames players and their families received the swine flu vaccine last week at a special clinic with the help of Alberta Health Services.

TTC tokens: investment with 10% annual return risk free!
Forget about mutual funds and stocks and RRSPs and TFSA! Sink your money into TTC tokens. They don't expire (usually); they will never depreciate (your initial investment guaranteed!); and from the recent historical trend, they appreciate by 10% annually! And, even better, you don't get taxed for your capital gain. So what are you waiting for? Go to the TTC booth closest to your location and scoop up all the tokens and hold on to them for the next 10 or 20 years. With such an incompetent management, TTC will make you a millionaire when you retire. It's time for those Bay St. investment banker to cook up a ETF on TTC tokens.
