Time Paradox do not enter!
If everyone knows the date and time of the black out, then why does no one leave themselves a message / warning ?
Wait, I'm confused.
No one knew when the blackout was going to happen.
The flash forward was a view of the future. Of course in the future I
already know about the past, but how was anyone supposed to
know about the mass blackout before it happened.
Did I miss something?
but here is what i am wondering.
If everyone knows the date and time of the black out, then why does no one leave themselves a message / warning ?
They know exactly when it is going to happen. yet no one ( in their flash forward) leaves any message like... Hey, this is what i am going to remember 6 months , better leave myself a note....

What?
They didn't travel back in time, they couldn't leave themselves a message.
What kind of message are they going to leave?
"here is what happened this day"
Why leave a message when you already have the memory...
WHAT?
serious.
No. what i am saying is that after they had the flsh forward.. the lead guy is working on solving the mosaic. others are sitting on their couches, looking at documents.
as in
Oct 6th - they black out for over a minute m they see Apr ... whatever date...
The day before d-day - they say, oh snap. i can;t believe this day is coming so quickly. why don't I leave myself a message for when I black out tomorrow so that I can answer some questions.
D-day - leave the note...
I mean the paradox idea is stretched thin because the lead dude is basing all of his investigation on the board that he saw. so you have to think that he just created a self fulfilling prophecy.
i understand that they didn't travel back in time, however.. they did travel to a future that they now have direct control over.

OK.
The leaving a note thing still makes no sense.
But... I think where you are trying to go is more towards
Is the future predetermined or can it be changed? Especially if
you already know specifically what the future will hold.

They don't black out in the future. During the black out they just see what they are doing at that time in the future.
But that thing at the end is twist not in the book.

Oh, and in the book there is a really minor character that see's he's still working at a shitty job
(In the book they see 20 years into the future) and his dreams have gone to shit, and he does
take himself out.

holee shit
Yea. Last nights episode was a little weak. I liked the twist at the end... but. The head FBI guy, that black guy. He is very flip floppy on how to lead the investigation...
i find it amusing that most of the cast are british
And they are showing on Mondays in the UK.
To answer RJ Robinsonm you can't leave a note on that day, because thinsg were already set in motion, you can;t change time. That being said, lets go with teh Baby sitter chick. She sees herself drowning. So you would think she would put herself in a position like say Jail that morning (your note theory). The problem is that maybe she gets kidnapped three days earlier for being a hot baby sitter. Your note becomes useless. Lets go back to the main character, he knows gunmen are coming for him, what you don;t know is (possibly) right after they start shooting at him, his hidden police jump out and kill the bad guys. Also the guy with Addison Disease, if the Dr would have kept quiet, she would have changed time, but she said it. There fore time is defined, he had to survive the surgery.
/Time travel, you can;t go back in time to kill Hitler, because if you did, then the hatred you have for him now would not be there, therefore you did not go back in time to kill Hitler. If you did not go back in time to kill Hitler, then he did all those bad things, and you have hatred for Hitler, so you travel back in time.....

Grandfather paradox... yea.
But the grandfather paradox has one flaw...your grandmother.
Have you seen Hitler's artwork? Worth a killing, IMHO.
PG-13? R? NC-17? XXX?
I'm liking the show so far, but some of the script is a bit contrived or drawn out.
The wife and I are through Epi 3 at the moment (dead crows), and the whole philosophical debate about whether or not to free a Nazi was burdensome. I got the point after a couple minutes.
I'm also getting sick of everyone saying "Why should we investigate this? Just because it was important in YOUR flash forward?" It's turning into the "I'm just doing this to protect you, Claire" of this show.
I do find the overarching plot to be intriguing, and I am curious to see how some of these flash forwards flesh out.

Unless she gets hit by a bus.
Yeah, but black guy had a flash foward, that I'm pretty sure he just cancelled.
Anyone still watching this? I'm finally all caught up.
Not as good as I was hoping it would be (and my favorite character just killed himself), but it's not terrible, either.
