I am sure it's a fine show, don't get me wrong. But viewers are "Overlosted" in whatthefuckery. There is just no slot on the grid for yet another "If you miss one, you are screwed" kind of show.

They are airing the first episodes just to recoup production costs, do not get too attached.

It's not from the lost people. It's just that ABC needs a lost replacement. The producers are from the latest Batman movies and Star Trek, the tv shows not the latest movie. This is the most promoted new show on ABC so I figure it'll be around for a while.

I might watch Flashforward if people can convince me it's not a total rip of the time travel type aspect of LOST. 

It's like JJ Abrams sold his PLOTOTRON-3000 to ABC.

I actually thought it was pretty cool. I'm in for the ride. 

I read the book when I first heard about the show, it was a pretty good quick read.
While the book explains what happens, the show is sort of an off shoot since it
takes place somewhere completely different.

They also changed the flash forward time leap from 20yrs into the future to 1 1/2 years or something like that.

Beside the fact that that change makes it easier to write story lines, it also makes for a quick end
after the 2 season when they catch up to the flash forward.

Some guy got on TV and said,"See this little statue? It was in my vision." He then
smashes it on the ground.

The main character then mails him a new one just to prove a point.

 

well not really... LOST was on for a few seasons, and only counted 100 days or something like that.

I did like the billboard for Oceanic Airlines. 

The best thing about this show happened in the first 15 minutes. Its all downhill from here.

It's not a rip off at all.
Lost's time travel was a lame plot gimmick to drag the show out for a couple years.
Lost could have done without the time travel and not missed anything in the bigger story.

This is a single shared event that drives the show, it's the central aspect of the show.
There is the trouble with having it happen 6 months from now.

But, then again, I'd like it if they did a show that only lasted one season,
and told a really good story with that time.
Like an 18 hour movie.
For me, that's the reason shows like Rome and Carnivale were so good.
They were never intended to fill a time slot for an indefinite period of time.

As often as networks are canceling shows nowadays, they should just do it that way anyway.

I liked the part where they found that one dude that wasn't affected on tape. It was spooky. 

looks like it'll be an ok show, we'll see how it progresses.

Well, the story line is a little different, That Simcoe guy that shows up at the hospital is
the main character in the book, but what's he's doing in L.A. and with a kid is news to me.
Also there was no strange guy walking around that was untouched so yeah, I kind of want to see
where they are going with this. 

i still like it. what did the little girl seen. 

first 5 minutes was exactly like lost.

Odd, but interesting.
I was kinda surprised they picked date only 6 months out though. Are they only planning on one season? 

This is just a spinoff from Lost.
Charlie never died in the underwater station, he just went to the USA so he could be around when this shit happens.
This show + Lost is going to have the most mindblowing convergence ever.

That part was fucking creepy! 

I like how all the traffic in the world was involved in one huge pile up and society was crumbling but by the end of the day the doctor wifey chick was able to just casually drive her SUV home from the hospital.

Guess everyone who needed help was taken care of and all the streets were clean. Nothing to see here, move along.

The show has a cool concept but there are plot holes the size of Uranus. 

That dude who was wandering about kinda vaguely looked like the guy whatsherface ends up with in her flashforward thing.
Mind you I could just be reading too much into it.

No idea why. 

First episode was on terrestrial TV at 9pm here in the UK. This tends to happen with new shows as they don't know how it will rate as so terrestrial stations get them cheap. If the show's any good then you can guarantee that the 2nd season will be picked up by satellite TV like SKY1.

Happened with 24. BBC got the 1st season, but were outbid by SKY for the 2nd because it turned out to be an awesome show.

If everyone knows the date and time of the black out, then why does no one leave themselves a message / warning ?
They know exactly when it is going to happen. yet no one ( in their flash forward) leaves any message like... Hey, this is what i am going to remember 6 months , better leave myself a note....
