it was something i looked into before in the past but never did
but ubuntu/debian makes it dead simple

Anyone know how I might go about setting up a macro to handle the following situation in Outlook 2007?:
I have a list of email clients. I have 2 user defined fields for each contact, one a text field called "Event" and the other a checkbox called "Do Not Email?".
If a contact wishes to be removed from my mailing list, they click a link which creates a blank email with the subject "REMOVE [Event]" where [event] is the event code in the user defined field. I would like for outlook to automatically check the box for the user defined field "do not email?" and send a message to them stating that they have been automatically removed from the mailing list, and should not receive any emails in the future.
How do I make this happen?

Samba is definitely one of the greatest inventions in recent history next to Ethernet and voip, and I think I'm going to have to get a better grip on it when my mac gets here since everything else in the house is PC
this would be better done with a list management software
The best thing about samba in a big environment is the server-side recycle. It has saved me from having to dig out a tape soooooooooo many times.
dig this
i set up vnc on it and sudo ufw allow 5900 and for all intents and purposes it's a regular machine
just installed a 1000$ pri module on our phone system
i'm sweating

I'm too cheap to pay for anything that will manage it automatically, so I set up a rule to alert me via popup when "REMOVE" is in the subject line and to send an automatic reply as well.
That will work for now. If I find myself wasting too much time doing these things, then I will consider paying for the software.

We handle our optouts though a web link instead of a reply email. The user database is in mysql and the optout is written in php. Instead of a "you have been removed" email they get conformation from the optout page.
rob, PRI is single mode fiber right?
negative it's basically a t-1 for phones
fuck, i totally forgot about that BRI and PRI shit, cisco classes were like 4 years ago, lol
Screwbacca, fun with Squid. Run a speed test at speedtest.net from behind your proxy and note your results then run it again. Hooray for caching.
HOLY CRAP 94 MEGABITS
Honestly though, I'd be ecstatic with 13. Single T1 in my home office shared by 40 people. Soon to be...wait for it...2 BONDED T1s!

Just made a rookie mistake. Changed the root password on a VMware server in VSphere while I was on the phone and only half thinking about it. Went to log back in and had no idea what I had changed it to. It took 10 minutes of guessing. I knew it had "vm" or "VM" in there somewhere...
oosp
yeah we have a pretty legit 15mb circuit here at the VB office
hey pearson vue how about approving me or whatever to schedule my cisco test you want 125 bucks don't you?
"youtube's loading slow"
"i'm going to file this under not a problem"
"i'm going to file this under not a problem"
lol dedpoet
Tell them to watch it once slow and it will go faster the second time because of Squid.
tell them nothing

Heh, someone pointed out deep in the comments that this is quite an old document. I over-reacted. Nothing to see here.

Is anyone running a DELL SAN solution that's tied to 2 machines?
Is anyone running a DELL SAN solution that's tied to 2 machines?
I have multiples of that situation in clustered and non clustered.
Could you please tell me what SAN systems you're running? I'm trying to piece together a solution for someone using some R710s that we have laying around
I got told "oh just use a PV220s"
Well, yes, except they don't MAKE those anymore.

I am looking at Dell's website, just seems they changed their naming convention or something
Are the EqualLogics the new powervaults?
Are the EqualLogics the new powervaults?
Ahh well if I just ignore their stupid catagories and search on iSCSI I get better results
still would like to know what models you like

Yikes beebs I would have to go in and look but I am know I have pv220's on a couple of them. You will have to wait until morning for the newer ones. We just built a nice new EMC setup, I am not sure what the Dell equivalent is but I think that one is Dell Branded. I will pm you in the morning.
sweet thanks man
I _think_ I found a solution, I just don't like how they're pushing the drive arrays into GB ethernet connections. Found a decent price on one that has ONE iSCSI connection on it, and like 8 ethernet ports
it'd be one thing if this were my software package i'm installing, i'd make whatever work. but i'm trying to go off the specs, just in case there really is a reason they want iSCSI attached

what would i need for a home cisco lab?
2 old ass routers?
2 old ass routers?
I am pretty sure there is virtual lab software out there. I may even have a copy somewhere, and if not I will ask around.
some came with my book i think
any good virtual lab will let you setup almost any setting on any port of any kind of virtual device.
virtually
exacttttllllyyyy
i think i can probably take it sooner but i just left the cushion
I was going to do my first P2V today. I was so excite! But it was not meant to be just yet. This is our old ERP server. We have to keep it around for legacy reasons but the data is now static and only accessed occasionally so it's a perfect candidate for virtualization. So I started the conversion tool and got the the drive setup step and noticed the 60GB of data on the E drive. Whoops. Let's go ahead and prune a bunch of that data and dump it to tape tomorrow before we do this.

From: PerryMason may be ugly and hate-filled, but... what was the third thing you said?

Protip: screw router simulators. Best bet is to grab a copy of the Dynamips emulator and if you want a GUI frontend, Dynagen.
Feel free to PM me if you've got questions screwb. While I've been pretty much hands-off for the past few years and I'm getting pretty rusty, I used to work for Cisco and have done something like 30 of their exams over the years so I guess I could answer generic exam type questions if nothing else!
