Robert Kubica is one of the ugliest people I can think of. He seems like a nice guy, I feel sorry for him.
HA!
I just spat Weetabix all over the desk.

I don't feel in the least bit sorry for him considering the amount of poon he could (and most likely does) get with an "I'm an F1 driver and make millions and millions of dollars a year" pickup line...
i'm sorry, but with a mug like that, no amount of fame and fortune could get you regular poon.
The world of celebrity disagrees.
Good job, Jensen!
yeah, the formula one championship is buttoned
I wish the BBC website would add some sort of highlights link for people who couldn't watch the race at the time.
I thought "oh, I'll just browse it and click directly onto the highlights...
First though, I thought I'd check the football results - only to find a link called "WATCH THE MOMEMT BUTTON WON THE TITLE"
Oh come on.

It's the only race I followed in whole this season

Out of all the teams on the grid this year, I really hope this one has some success.

...and I'm glad they managed to do it!!!!
Great drive by Button, very aggressive and he made some good passes stick.
Nice touch having Massa there to wave the chequered flag. Good to see him doing well.
Just finished watching the highlights. What a race!
Good on Button, raced to do as well as he could. Some fantastic gutsy overtaking moves. I was saying to a workmate on Friday that I was fed up watching some of these races and seeing overtaking being reduced to either "slipstream, move out, other person concedes" or "hit KERS button, move past other car". Good to see people bringing back other options :)

Yeah, Button did a hell of a job. Watching him and Kobayashi fight it out was fun, especially when he ballsily passed and got passed right back.
Some crazy shit in that race; I was pretty sure Trulli was about to take a swing at Sutil. Also interesting to know that even being set on fire doesn't really affect Kimi one way or the other.
I was really pulling for Vettel or Barichello to be honest, but I'm pleased enough to see Button and Brawn take it. He's a good guy and a good driver.

indeed, how raikkonen react to the the incident was impressive
They must know that they're fine for a good few seconds of complete flame.
This is another good one...

I reckon the Mclaren lollipop man wasn't watching his own pit crew and just lifted when he saw the Ferrari move.
Yeah, that's what the Speed commentators said, too much of a hurry to beat Kimi out.
I'd not seen any replays of it, the lollipop man is so early it's ridiculous.

They really don't do themselves any favours do they?

Fix!
Anyone that would be the head of the FIA should really be involved in Formula One, so no matter who you got there would be ties of some kind. It's just that, well, they're a bit visible in some folk ;)
A fairly dull end to a relatively interesting season.
Getting really tired of Vettel crying about the McLaren kers though. Every time he's beaten, he makes some jealous comment about it. Silly German.
Looking forward to next season though, lots of interesting changes to come.

Agreed. I wasn't as overawed with the circuit as everyone else seems to be. It ought to look good considering they must have spent squillions on it, but as a bare circuit it had a couple of nice features but nothing special.
I thought Vettel did a nice job, congrats to him on taking the inaugural race there. Here's hoping he will take that 'youngest champion ever' away from Hamilton next year.
Speaking of, Hamilton took his car's mechanical failure like a true gentleman when Peter Windsor caught up with him down in the paddock, even before knowing that McLaren had collected 3rd in the Constructors despite that.
However, I will not miss Windsor's unabashed Hamilton-fellating commentary next year when he moves on to head up USF1. At least I'll still have David Hobbs for that.
I like the circuit okay, but I agree with one of the Speed commentators who expressed regret that there wasn't really any elevation change to speak of.
I hope to hell Kobayashi gets a full time drive next year. He's fun. A bit reckless, but fun.

The circuit's by that same guy who designs all the new ones.
You know, all the new, boring ones that are meant to be great for overtaking, but in actual fact separate the field out too much, leading to no overtaking.

they should bring back takuma sato and ricardo rosset. Those guys were crazy.
Sato has been touted for a drive next year with Lotus or Manor.
While we're at it, bring back Jean "Crazy" Alesi, and Olivier Panis. Both of them liked driving into things at speed. Very entertaining.

This is complete bollocks. Manufacturers are leaving because they cannot sustain an F1 team. Ferrari are in a different league. Ferrari cars will always be sold, recession or not, because those who can afford them are less likely to be affected financially.
Ironically, if the teams had agreed on a devolopment cost cap, this might not have happened. On that score, Ferrari are shifting the blame somewhat, being staunch opponents of cost cutting measures.

Wonder how that would work on the PSP - driving games generally aren't all that great on it.
I min having an F1 game for the PC that was incredible. Any game that accurately reproduces wet conditions is wonderful. I'd love racing a long track, the rain coming on, and then drying off in bits around the track.
Wish I could remember what it was :p

The F1 game for the PC that I remember as being incredible was Gand Prix 3. I remember there was a lot of "home brew" sort of develpment on it, with people developing patches with new tracks, new drivers, new teams, etc for this game. I spent many hours playing it.
Is it possible that that's the one you are talking about Midge?
Then there was GP4, which was also great, and I probably still have it somewhere. But I never played that one with such enthusiasm as I did GP3.
One of the things I liked about the article on the new F1 game is when they mention it will be good for the 30-something guy. I am actually looking forward to it.

Grand Prix 3, that was it! I loved it. I'm sure I've got it somewhere. Might be something to play in the off-season.
Mercedes buy 75% stake in Brawn GP, rename team Mercedes GP. McLaren buy back their stake from Mercedes by 2011, and retain engine deal until 2015.
Mercedes expected to field Heidfeld and Rosberg next year, currently leaving Button without a seat...
Was Button pre warned of this news, hence his visit to McLaren last Friday? If he seals a deal there, we will see a British team with British drivers, and a German team with German drivers. F1 World Cup???
Crikey...

Deal is likely apparently. Could be quite exciting. From Button's point of view, a move to McLaren would probably be better than staying at Brawn. I reckon McLaren will be stronger next year, along with Ferrari, due to their early development of next year's car, compared to Brawn. Brawn were successful this year in part because of the previous year's battle and in part because they had the jump with the twin diffuser thing. However, it takes a brave man to partner Hamilton. Even with a dog of a car Hamilton was putting in some stellar performances this year whereas Button faded with the pressure. On top of that, although Massa is an unknown quantity, ie. will he still be as quick considering the severity of his head injury ( hope so), Alonso should be a serious challenger next year.
Question is, if Button goes to McLaren as mooted, where does this leave Raikkonen?
Interesting times.
