I have borderlands, it's a lot of fun, but DJ Hero has been keeping me busy. But I'll do some Co-op with you if you're down
I absolutely love the Ratchet & Clank series but I don't think I'll have the time to play Crack in Time. I still haven't beaten UC2, and MW2 comes out in less than two weeks. I'll probably play Demon's Souls and R&C around christmas time just for something to do.
whoo, uncharted 2 multiplayer is amazing
I cant wait. It should be delivered today.

Latest Ratchet & Clank Likely To Be Insomniac's Last 60fps Game
Developer will likely prioritize graphics from now on.
By Kat Bailey, 10/29/2009
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time runs at a sillky-smooth 60 frames per second, and it looks great doing it. But it may end up being the last Insomniac game to run at such a high framerate for the forseeable future.
"One of the long-standing sacred cows here at Insomniac is framerate. We've long viewed a solid framerate as both a sign of a quality product and professionalism as developers. It's always been point of pride in our work and considered an extremely serious part of our development process," wrote Insomniac's Mike Acton in the developer's official blog.
"However, during development, there are hard choices to be made between higher quality graphics and framerate. And we want to make the right choices that reflect our commitment to providing you with the best looking games out there. To that end, our community team did some research into the question of framerate. The results perhaps confirmed what I've known for a long time, but found it difficult to accept without evidence."
The community team's findings suggest that a higher framerate does not significantly affect a game's sales, nor does it affect revew scores. However, graphics do have a significant impact on the final review score, and can even affect the gameplay, with gamers perceiving better looking games to be "more fun."
Based on these and other findings, Insomniac has come to the conclusion that framerate is "important, but not critically so. When there is a clear choice between framerate and improved graphics, graphics should win. The correlation with review scores is clear."
So what does all that mean? According to Acton, "It means that framerate is still important to us here at Insomniac, but it's not on the same pedestal it was before. And that Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time will probably be Insomniac's last 60 fps game."

That's a shame... I really can tell a difference between lets say 30fps and 60fps, especially in a shooter action game. I think the graphics are still cutting edge while running at 60...
I just lost 6 straight hours to Demon Souls
game is pretty good
game is pretty good
It's got some great atmosphere. I love the music and voice acting in that game. And despite the overall linearity of the zones, it still has an immense feeling of scale and environmental depth.
I am hoping the broken archstone will come into play with some DLC.

It really is interesting how a game that involves so much dying never feels frustrating
how does character leveling work in demon's souls? i just opened the big door of 1-1, but cant possibly beat that guy without leveling up
Believe in yourself! And check for hint messages just before the threshold there.
You actually can't level up until after you beat the first boss
anyone having a blast playing the multiplayer of Call of Juarez? It's fun as shit. The single player game is ok, but there's too many problems with it. The multiplayer just buzzes with excitement. I just found out the guy killing the shit outta me for the last hour is ranked #2 out of everyone who has played it. No wonder.
fuck you Zen Alien, fuck you.
fuck you Zen Alien, fuck you.
Call of Juarez struck me as being a complete turd. Even Graham Linehan(creator of Father Ted) rubbished it.
It makes me proud to have worked on Red Dead Redemption, and that is saying a lot.
Fuck Mr. #2 in the world though. Asshole needs to find a better game to sink his time into.

Nice apostrophe. Pay attention in school, kid.
well, the name fits
let me ask this again:
is anyone playing call of juarez mulitplayer? Not if it's shite or who slagged it off.

I was playng one of the funniest UC2 Deathmatch RPG matches i've ever played the other night. Of course it doesn't work too well without voice chat, but, my friend and I were in a party and we were doing alright but then I realized I could fire from the hip. I started racking up a few kills and then accidentally shot my friend.
He said "DAMNIT!" and shot me. So, we respawned and i pointed the rocket launcher straight down and killed myself, him, and one teammate. We respawned again, with him yelling "FUCK YOUR SHIT!" and did the same thing, but then wiped out me, himself, and two teammates, then getting booted from the game. We were laughing our asses off about the entire ordeal.
On a side note, i love UC2 Multiplayer. Still haven't touched the singleplayer since I haven't beaten UC1.

I really want to give the multiplayer a go but my internet connection keeps timing out so I can't even download the update needed let alone get into a game.
I finished the campaign the other day too, so it's even more frustrating.

I did a co op game for the first time last night
fun as shit
pvp is better though

In the beta it was a bit frustrating that it was possible to sink money into co-op weapon upgades that did not benefit your PvP game at all. I felt like they should be cheaper if there was going to be that many of them (3 per weapon?) and they only benefited co-op.
Did they change the store format at all for the final release?

Craigslist guy selling me UC2 for $50 tomorrow after work. Ding!

Ah well. I guess it's fair enough that if you want the edge with boosters in PvP you have to forego co-op weapon upgrades, or vice versa.

you save 5 bucks. Why not just buy it new?
I save $10 actually... it's still going for $60 plus tax around here.
Just bought FF7 off the PSN.
Took forever to download. Also didn't help that I was downloading porn at the same time, but whatever.
Game is still fun!

I've had it for a while and want to finish it sometime, but I'm totally stalled near the end of disc 1. I find Caitt Sith annoying, and the next part of the story appears to be one of those tedious RPG 'you're imprisoned and have lost your stuff' sections.
that part didnt last to long thankfully, just kill Dane and you are pretty much free.
Ah, that's good to know. You've played it before, right? If you got all that way in a couple of hours that's pretty scary, ha.
yeah, that part wasn't that fun.
but get ready to chase chocobos around for days

ive played through it several times, just restarted the game and am still in midgar. Got a good ways in and went to save, turns out i forgot to add a memory card in the system... no save for me, had to redo it all.
That blows. I had one made from playing a PS1 game I picked up, if it wasn't for that I would have been in a similar situation.
XMB ought to work in more situations; you still can't use it all during DVD/Blu-ray playback or B/C gaming, as far as I know. I guess it wasn't so long ago that it wasn't even available in-game, though.

Did they speed it up for this version? My major gripe with it is that it feels too slow.
micros or Vesper and a whole host of others might be able to tell you, but I've only seen a little bit of FFVII running on PS1 and that was so long ago that I can't make a comparison.
One thing that might be a gripe for you this time round, though: I looked up a youtube video in an effort to improve my rating on the marching mini-game on disc 1, and the guy who made the video was skipping through dialogue. It didn't seem possible to skip through dialogue at all on the PSN version.

Hit O as soon as the dialogue pops up.
and its still pretty much the same game.

why oh why do i SUCK so bad with dual analogs :( I've been trying to get good at cod4 before MW2 comes out. I don't want to buy the PC version because of lack of dedicated servers. I'm just so inconsistent. One game I rape faces the next game I'm like 8-16 with 5 teamkills.
I keep switching from very high sensitivity to 3 or 4 and I can't get comfortable.

Just cracked into Uncharted 2. Oh. My. God. This game is so 'effin gorgeous. Just uncovered the bodies and am off to the city... hope it goes on for a long while further... it's everything I loved about the first one and more.
Amazon.com is running a special on MW2 right now where if you preorder it from them you get $20 credit towards a future VG purchase.
I threw down for the PC version because I hate playing FPSes on console. Not sure how much multiplayer I'll be doing since I don't ahve much time, but playing the first one convinced me to buy the second one legitimately.

Yes but, the PC version's gimped beyond belief...
::shrugs:: I just want to play single player. I have no idea what the controversy is and I'm sure whatever disability its got is still much more pleasant than trying to aim with those damn sticks.
Eh, i see.
Isn't the PC version just going to work like the consoles matchmaking service?
Yeah basically, which in case you haven't played, is terrible. Even when I have 2 other people in the same house trying to find a decent game together is a nightmare. PC gamers have had the luxury of not having to deal with any of that crap by just having permanent, no-lag servers you can play on any time.
Instead, the typical experience is: invite to party, invite to party, hope everyone gets in. Find game... searching for 2 minutes, nobody joins, people leave, lobby closes. Repeat. Get into a game finally. Everyone's ping is yellow. Back out, try again. Find a good game with green ping, host leaves... repeat.
You can't kick douchebags or TKers, you can't enforce any rules, you can't have a permanent place to tell friends to meet, you cant use mods or custom maps. And worst of all THE LAG OH GOD THE LAG.
Unless they've completely perfected the matchmaking system and cut down on latency, its going to be rough. I'm just buying for PS3 because my 2 roommates have PS3s and I don't want to support poor business decisions by paying for the PC version.

Now that you've said this, it makes sense.
I couldn't understand why you'd chose matchmaking on console over PC, but now I do.
I appreciate every point you've made too.
And to further your point..
I just played a couple rounds of UC2 online (finally!).
They're matchmaking seemed to think this was fair -
One team - Levels 49, 45 x 2, 28 , 16.
My team - 25, 18, 6, 2, and me (first ever game).
Funnily enough we got slaughtered, and I was still top score on out team.
Euck.

UC2 multiplayer has a level system? Does it work like CoD4?
