the point is that if everybody greeds on a given green/blue in an instance, and a non-enchanter gets it. Odds are solid that it'll get vendored or used by somebody before being vendored.
With more of those greens/blues being DE'd, the enchanting mat market will become more watered down.
This new system is absolutely a categorically bad thing for DE'ers.
...unless...
the DE'er can opt into the system, consenting to DE the other group members' drops for a fee per DE, say 3g or so.

I think that's why a priest in my guild doesn't tell her pugs that she can DE. If she wins it, yay it gets DE. If they win it, yay they get to vendor it. But you usually have to be a miner to sell ore, or an herbalist to sell herbs, but now everyone's gonna sell enchanting mats.
exactly.
i never tell ppl I can DE, and I wait until after the group has disbanded to DE my drops so they don't see.
if they inspect me and see my ring enchants and ask, though, then i'll claim it.

As a non enchanter though, score. I have to send all my BOE greens off to an alt to get mats, always running low on dream shards and abyss crystals because I just let the enchanters keep them and depending on the altruism of my friends when I need an enchant that requires those.
I don't how how I ended up with so many Dream shards, but I've got like 50 or 60 just chilling between my two 80's. Probably because the top roll gets the Abyss, and I'm never top rollz. Oh well.
Getting the mage to 65 to learn the Enchants is the only thing I need to worry about...leveling should get her enough greens to DE to get to the point where Infinite dust is all she'll need to keep leveling. I've notice some greens from Northrend I can DE w/ 325 skill level, while other greens, (and blue and epics) take 350 or beyond skill. It's the greens that confuse me the most.
On another note, are you able to DE the stuff from Badge vendors? I just had a brain wave that might be an easy way for the occasional abyss crystal...when I don't NEED gems or orbs.

I'm not sure tonis, but I know you can't vend them anymore.
If you can't DE them, you CAN make cheap BOE purples (inscription offhands, for example) with frozen orbs purchased for 10 badges.

Yeah, I know there's the Icebane(I think) set that I can craft w/ Blacksmithing that doesn't require any Titanium/Titansteel just some Eternals and Saronite. Might have to do that.
Personally, I see this as a huge improvement. Enchanting mats are going to be cheap as hell now.
Yeah, won't cost so much to level up for those who need to level up their enchanting. ;)
struggling with 25 ToGC faction champions, could use some hot pro tips!

You sign in w/ the desired email address, and then link it with your warcraft account. It will change your login to the email address that's on Battle.net.
Okay so we got TOGC25 faction champions down after many attempts. Getting a new boss every week is pretty rewarding, but I have my doubts about twin valkyrs. Hints?
If your DPS is super leet, just focus on one and keep them from healing. While making sure people stay alive for the massive AOE nonsense.
well, my final day of my accounts was yesterday, after I decided to quit Labor Day weekend. I consolidated all my screenshots/Fraps, used an MPQ extracter to extract WAV files so I could change my default beep to the mini-diablo grunt etc., and deleted WoW off my three systems.
I was originally planning to come back for Cataclysm, but a few hours spent reading http://wowdetox.com stories changed my mind. Not the omg-I-lost-my-spouse/house/job horror stories (I was never more than a 3h/day player, except Molten Core nights), but ones about how pugs have become full of humorless jerks and ninjas, where you have to have a gearscore higher than the gear that drops just to get in. Where even if you enjoy the game, at the end of the day there are probably better things you could've spent your time on where you have a 'take-away' skill like guitar playing or a foreign language. Even 3 hours a day is a lot.
The thing that will replace WoW for me is making music. I sing opera, and I'd love to hone my voice to performance-grade. I play guitar, I have a dozen guitars, Marshall amp/fullstack/Line6, but I need to practice more. I play keyboard, I have a dozen synthesizer/sound modules and several keyboards, but I need to practice more.
When my back injury was so bad that all I could do was medicate myself fuzzy-headed and sit at the computer, WoW fit right in - couldn't do much else. Now that my back pain has lessened, it's time to do the things I've been neglecting for the past four years. I enjoyed WoW and don't regret playing it, but it's time to move on. Lots of good memories, lots of screenshots. Have fun, everyone, I will un-watch this thread after this post.

Meh, I manage to surf, play bass in a band, maintain a healthy relationship, keep my job and still play WoW. Granted, not as hardcore as I used to, but to each his own :)
Reading that site though, holy shit, it's pathetic how people can let WoW take over their lives like that. I've seen meth addict families that were more stable than some of these stories O_o

I'm amazed at how some of the people I know neglect their kids in order to play WoW. My kids come first. That means if I'm in the middle of an instance and my kids wake up from a nap, I tell my instance group I need an afk, I make them a snack, I kiss them on the forehead, I ask them how their nap was, I set up some toys for them to play with, and then I finish my instance. Once my instance is done, I leave the computer to homeschool/play with the kids.
There's this 30year old woman in my guild - she's already had her two older kids foster/adopted out - who lets her 3 year old "brat" (as she calls her) scream and cry in her room for over an hour until she feels like she's done pvping instancing or whatever. Then she complains the entire time about how her 'brat' won't be quiet. I'd dropped lots of hints that I wasn't okay with that, and then finally my best friend (the guild master) had a talk with her.
I mean, jeez. Where the fuck are your priorities?

Your Visa will be automatically billed on January 19, 2033
lol
haha, armory currently shows you logged out in your dps gear :P
damnit.
scrub-ass dps gear.
scrub-ass dps gear.
Got heroic Northrend Beasts down, took 10 attempts.
now it's tank gear.
with the new lfg system and the bonus for random heroics, i'm going to gear up retardedly fast after 3.3 drops. 6-7 emblems of triumph every 40 minutes? why yes, please, that sounds lovely.
additionally, converting my acct to battle.net was quick and painless.
Yea, I'll probably deck my alt out in the cheapo Tier9 just so he is somewhat decent. I'm finding less and less time to worry about gear improvements though. My pendulum was swinging too far to the "hardcore", so I'm reigning it back in a bit.
Hey Bees, sent you some stuff to de. just been vendoring the drops I couldnt use so far.
sure. i can de anything.
Yeah, first thing I did when I was getting too hardcore was stop giving a shit about my alt. :)
I like playing him too. I also have some PS3/PC games that I want to play too, and WoW is a bit of an attention hog.
http://www.mmo-champion.com/news-2/introducing-the-pet-store/
WOW.
WOW.
Why are you introducing this service?
The Pet Store provides a new way for players to obtain unique companion pets outside of the game, which is something that has been requested by many players who enjoy World of Warcraft's non-combat companions.
Also, $$$, duh

I'm cool with that, especially since part of the money goes to charity on the pandarean. I wish it was like 75% though instead of 50%. Like they need the extra money. If people want to buy vanity pets, let them, its business. Its basically exactly like items from the card game, but they are making it so people don't have to buy bullshit cards that they won't actually play to get items.
the thing that gets to me is that it only lasts 50something days, after that it's all blizzards
Agreed, which is lame.
And it's only the panda, not the other one?
Did anybody else just get a Burning Crusade email? I can't figure out if I got that in error because of a misblast, or if Blizzard is really that retarded.
I got none. Might be fakesies.
I triple checked, it is legit....even weirder.
Tribute to Insanity (10) tonight.
:)
:)
what'd the email say?
I deleted it, but it was like "Jason, you've conquered azeroth...now step through the dark portal and discover the adventures that await in the Outlands".
Finally had a decent group for heroic ToC10...got to Anub with two wipes on faction champs. Phase 3 is a bitch...think we got him to 14% our best try. Still hoping for the tribute chest tomorrow.
Ah, Jason, that email sounds like a Scroll of Resurrection email.
They're still advertising Burning crusade when you send it.

Levitt:
Nature Resist Totem
Healing Stream Totem
Mortal Strike
Judgment of Light
If any of those 4 things aren't active, it can be bad news. We were in about your boat, until we realized that we weren't putting MS on the boss 100% (hunter was targeting off and losing it), and Nature Resist totem wasn't down. We killed him next attempt after those issues were fixed. Try to go for one submerge, it makes the whole fight a lot easier. DPS is still close for us sometimes, but we can manage. After enrage starts, finish first set of adds but let all subsequent adds burrow (remember to interrupt shadow strike still). Bloodlust, keep your cool, don't keep players too high, profit.

Marzz, that sounds about right. I have an old RAF account that was abandoned after my bros turned 60.
Yeah, we were doing 1 submerge and that adds strat. Getting to p3 wasn't much of an issue. I wasn't dropping nature resisit (excellent idea) and we had no pally and no MS warr either.
I'm also gonna hack on grid for a bit to see who has penetrating cold. The healing in p3 is stressful enough w/o guessing who has the certain death debuff.

MS is pretty crucial for that fight
