Your free transfer doesn't count against your "server cooldown" and I know that transferring back, or transferring to at a later date, is not free.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the part where they opened up your server for a free transfer.
Sorry.
Sorry.
If anyone wants a 60 priest and rogue, let me know.
Be honest with me guys. I have about 60-90 minutes a day to invest in gaming.
Is it worth it?
Is it worth it?
Well, let's do the math. I'm going to ignore powerleveling guides like Jame or Joana that give you a Let's Go Azeroth speed tour in a week. More likely, on your first character, it'll take on the order of 20 days /played to ding 60, with the trip 60->70 allegedly taking twice as long (lvl 59 was 200k xp; lvl 60 is 400k just to start). That's 20x24 = 480 hours of playtime. At an hour and a half every single day, roughly a year before you can play the expansion content being released in a week. Which will then take you two more years to finish to reach lvl 70 endgame, where you have to do all the things in that scary chart linked earlier. I know poopsockers are going to tell me they reached lvl 60 in (20-X) days /played, but I'm talking about a casual solo effort. It took me a bit longer; since I avoided boring 'grinding' until lvl 58 when I was almost there.
Also, 'instances' - set-piece dungeons unique to a party, unlike world content where other people can interact with you, can take anywhere from an hour to 4+ hours, depending on the instance and how much of its content you want to tackle. Instances are where the best gear is to be found, and you need typically 4 other players with the right class balance to complete them. For 'the trinity' of tank/heals/dps, plus crowd control/AOE classes where needed, it can take a half hour of recruiting just to put the right pick-up group together. If you're keen to get a particular piece of gear, you may have to run the same instance 15 times to get it to drop and win it.
And finally, IT NEVER ENDS. There is always something more you could be doing - some skill you could be increasing, some quest you could be nibbling on, or some boars in the forest you could be grinding. Not all of it is fun - 'reputation grinding' at 60 means killing the same type of mob over and over and over just to increase a number indicating how much some faction in the game likes you. Check out all the 'revered with...' bubbles on that link. Each 'revered' constitutes a colossal timesink. There's always some Carrot on a Stick to chase after.
So try the 10-day/lvl 20 eval - it's pretty fun, and you'll 'get' the appeal of the game. Just be warned that you've spent only a tiny fraction of the time required to reach endgame content, which is an endless quest for new gear and new enchants and my god it never ends.
Oh it ends.
When you stop paying money for it.
When you stop paying money for it.
Speaking of ends,
My computer and I might be splitting up soon, if I get a new job, and thus, I have a 90 Day card that I havent scratched off yet.
Does someone want it for face value?

I want it for free, fucker
I'll give ya treefiddy.
five dolla
Is it just me or is wowwiki off the air?
it's down
down for me as well.
my god it never ends.
Why would you want it to end? That's the point. There's always something new or different you can do. And even if you've Ubered Out one character you can make another, and another and another.
I hope this world event is good.
Don't forget to go into your Add-ons and click the Load Out of Date Add-ons box folks!
what world event?
A stirring of events has begun throughout Azeroth and rumor points to the Dark Portal as its source
From the patch notes nub.
It's just going to open on the 16th and you can only go through if you paid the man... they aren't going to let people who don't pay participate in some cool world event.
well i guess i'll just have to hang out at the portal and jack ppl.

I'm only speculating... it's just if I was Blizzard why would I let people who didn't get the expansion participate in the expansion coolness. If anything the World event will be on the other side of the Dark Portal... but I could be completely wrong.
well, they still gotta get to the portal, right?
Yeah I would assume so.
then, it will be my honor to hand out $50 corpse runs to the stragglers.
wtf why on t he 16th? They should do it on the 20th

Because DVDs, video games, albums, etc are released on Tuesdays.
Correct.
Azeroth is under attack! Horrific creatures are swarming from a suddenly active Dark Portal and have rampaged into the Blasted Lands. Defenders from Nethergarde Keep have scrambled to meet the enemy head-on. However, even with the assistance of reinforcements from the ever-vigilant Argent Dawn, the forces of Azeroth need your help!
Not much is known of the invasion at this early stage, but early reports from the battlefront describe wave after wave of demonic attackers charging from the Dark Portal. It is also reported that Lord Kazzak was seen departing through the Dark Portal. In his stead he has left his minion, Highlord Kruul, to sow fear and confusion among the defenders.
Accompanied by a host of infernals, Kruul has been seen near a number of major cities in Azeroth, along with the following outdoor areas:
Hinterlands
Eastern Plaguelands
Winterspring
Stranglethorn Vale
Azshara
Silithus
Searing Gorge
Not even the elite forces of the Argent Dawn have dared attack Kruul directly. Only a large and well-coordinated group of adventurers might stand a chance of defeating him.

No I realize release is then
but if I want to participate, I'll have to wait in line for 7 hours or some nonsense
even after I've spent $110 on the expansion (Collector's/regular)
I haven't left the house in months
I don't intend to start now!

I stand corrected... Blizzard isn't as greedy as I thought.
Only a large and well-coordinated group of adventurers might stand a chance of defeating him until a masked villan ninjas their main healer at the worst moment.
Babagiveitem's Ambush crits McHealalot for 1800 damage
Babagiveitem's Backstab crits McHealalot for 700 damage
Babagiveitem's eviscerate crits McHealalot for 1200 damage
McHealalot dies
Krull makes thumbs up gesture at Babagiveitem
Babagiveitem cast vanish on Babagiveitem
Krull laughs at alliance party before devouring them.

anyone else getting errors with the patch? Last patch I found in the forums to delete some file and then it worked, but they have disabled text searching the forums, and of course all of their support says "you have bad memory, defrag, load a new video driver, you looked at it funny"

The only errors I'm getting are with my Add-ons. Someone at Blizzard needs a kick to the cock.

I went through STV, searing gorge, blasted lands and silithus and saw not one infernal or any sort of demonic invasion. World event my ass.
I'm heading to Silithus. Supposedly Alliance on Kel'Thuzad have downed Krull already.
My downloader stopped at 96%...for the past 45 minutes. I hate Blizz.
And there it goes. How do they select who gets the 'Scarab Lord' title?
I haven't played WoW in several months and I preordered the expansion. I don't know if I should start up again. :/ it took my life away!
Wish I could have my lock there at the opening. or even my rogue. it would be so much more fun.
I </3 my druid.

First person to open the AQ gates on each server.
Ironically enough, the first person to do that on my own server transferred off. So we won't have one it looks like :(
hrm.. well druid talent points have been refunded.
maybe I'll try him out again =\
maybe I'll try him out again =\
We had someone who opened the gate transfer to smolderthorn. All he seems to do now is sit on his mount (either AQ or turtle) in the middle of IF. Kinda like saying, I played all this time with no life to get these and now I have nothing left to do but brag about it. It's like grandpa, "when I was your lvl, I played 48 hours straight in BRD"
rogues got refunded talent points too.
i sacrificed +2% chance to hit for Quick Recovery (Rank 2)
it works on pots, cannibalism, band-aids, healthstones,
and sick heals from my shammy friend.
rogue buff in your face.
i stopped using Trinity Buttons / Trinity Bars,
and switched to Bongos.
not quite as sexy, but much easier to setup.
includes savable/loadable character profiles.

I have done the initial research, by the end of the month I will be completely selling my soul and joining the WoW for the long haul. I am considering an Undead Rogue or an Undead Warrior.
I have questions:
Which of these race/class combos is acceptable to Fazer gamers? (Neither?)
Which server should I choose? Why? (Convince me)
Thanks to anyone who helps me decide.

I played a UD Warr to 57.
I liked it, before switching to a Hu Pally.
I'd go to Bleeding Hollow, I believe that's the main fazer-populated server.
Me and stile play on Hellscream, and a few others are scattered about on other servers.

I'm offcially quitting - i haven't played in months, but I'll be back for World of Warcraft II =D
Any word on when WoW II is coming out? You know it's in development.

You mean the BC expansion? the 16th.
from a pvp perspective both are good.
cannibalism and will of the forsaken are the coolest racial abilities imo.
the under water breathing is bonus.
typically a warrior should own a rogue,
but if you spec and play your rogue right
you can crap on a warrior.
i like rogues because i enjoy fighting like a bitch.
ie
pop out of nowhere, dump some serious damage,
and then disappear like a douche if things don't go my way.
it's also cool if i have to go afk for a few sec.,
because i can just get in a bush and stealth.

Warlocks
Melee damage of "Felguard" has been reduced. The damage increase component of "Soul Link" has been improved. The damage mitigation component has been reduced.
The cooldown of "Shadowfury" has been reduced to 20 sec, from 1 min.
The mana cost of "Soul Fire" has been reduced by approximately 45%.
The feedback from dispelling "Unstable Affliction" is now affected by "Shadow Mastery".
Pets will again have their mana reset to full in addition to their health when first summoned.
"Demonic Resilience" will now properly reduce pet damage taken.
Fire objects in the game world (bonfires, braziers) will no longer trigger "Nether Protection".
When a Warlock is under the effects of "Backlash" and "Nightfall", only one of the effects will be consumed by a "Shadow Bolt" cast.
The bonus that the spells "Corruption" and "Curse of Agony" receive from bonus spell damage effects has been decreased by approximately 10%.

So everyone on the forum is saying that the Felguard damage is now the same as a succubus. So we have a 41 point talent that just reskins a pet?
