For all those that ignored the old Warcraft thread, please re-ignore this one. It's a continuation due to the upcomming expansion.

For those that don't know about it, this should tell you about it.

I'm personally sticking with NE hunter and taking him to 70. 

Let me know if it sucks or is awesome.

We've discussed this a few weeks back.
It just clears up the thread, and the new expansion gave good reason for it. 

But the expansion isn't out for 8 days! 

Right, but this gives us time to get ready for it.

Is it worth it? 

Not if you spend no time on dedicated physical fitness.

Sure, you just won't get the really GOOD stuff.
You can still have fun though, even without spending hours and hours.

haha, cute. And it wouldn't be the first time I've played a female character; I'm convinced that real men play undead chicks. ;)

On another note, I retired my twink mage from the 20-29 BGs last night. Thought long and hard about it, but finally decided that I no longer had any desire to play in that bracket anymore (a few friends that I played 20-29 BGs with cancelled their accounts). It was kinda surreal seeing that light explosion when I hit lvl 30, knowing that there was no turning back... when I thought about all of the time and money I pumped into maxing stats on that mage, I realized that the twinking process itself was just as fun as the utter pwnage in WSG/AB. I'm already up to lvl 37 on this mage and I've not even had to considering upgrading gear once. I guess +158 fire damage scales pretty well, as I'm still able to 2- or 3-shot many mobs 2 or 3 lvls higher than me. ;)

I've been doing the tauren druid thing, where I can turn into lions and such.

What effect does my weapon have, on how powerful my lion/bear is?

Should I equip a strong weapon with a shitty speed, or...what's the best way to maximize damage? 

If your a feral druid the only thing you are looking for on a weapon is stats. Damage, Speed, Procs are all useless to you.

You want +agility, +crit, +stamina, +str in roughly that order. 

For serious? It makes no difference how much damage the weapon does?

I thought my damage as a bear was directly proportional to the damage my held-weapon does. 

Weapon DPS and weapon +damage enchants are not used. The weapon damage bonus from the Might of Cenarius ring does work, however.

For cat form, you want pure agility for increasing damage. Bear forms gains attack power through strength, but I most often maximize armor + stamina for bear form and stick to doing damage in cat form.

Seeing as how this thread is being watch by 20 people now (31 in the other thread), does everyone else check Fazed first before they start playing WOW? I normally hope to find some good information I can use before I play. 

So I transferred to Arygos after all. My previous guild leader didn't want me back (the one my boyfriend is still in.) so we came to a compromise: if while he's leveling from 60-70 and he can't live without me, we'll decide who will go to who's server.

You can't transfer backwards, I don't think. At least for free. 

You won't be able to transfer for 6 months. 

Personally I plan on starting on one of the new servers. (Drysc just posted, finally, that they WILL in fact be opening servers on Jan 16th -- so screw the ones that just came out this week and last week.) I've got a small guild together, Horde, mostly to level up and PvP together.

I played in the beta for BC and it is pretty much what you'd expect; more of the same but better and more obviously planned out in advance than a lot of the current stuff is. It's going to be fun. 

I started a character on a fairly fresh PvE server and man, people there just don't have a clue. I don't mind helping out people who are new, hell I'm still pretty new myself really, but you shouldn't need your hand held, your nose wiped and your sword swung for you.

That being said not being ganked eighty times in a row is quite pleasant.

You can get the original WoW for $20 now with 30 days free... you can also download a free 10 day trial off their site. It's $15/mo or less if you pay in 3 mo. or 6 mo. installments. The Burning Crusade which is coming out on the 16th will be $50.

Far as the rest of it, it's pretty individual. I probably spent a good 3 months (out of about 2 years now, mind you) where I played it non-stop other than work and real social obligations. But the past 2 months, I play maybe an hour here or there or 3 on the weekend. Totally up to your own situation.
