There wasnt any guitar solos in any of the stuff I sent you was there Fen?
I always work out "written" solos really slow to make sure the melodie would stand up on its own as a head.

No solos as I recall hip
The only solos I work out are ones that copy the vocal line (ala Cobain -- Teen Spirit), or work into something based off the vocal line. They're more like passages than solos

I love my Google G1 phone. I have an app on there that gives me a notification anytime somebody posts on Craigslist looking to sell a "Telecaster", "Tele", "Breedlove" or "Seagull" within price limits I've set. Seems to notify me the moment that it goes live on CL...so I often have first shot at the guitars I'm looking for. Next month I'll have enough of a kitty built up for the Tele I'm after, so hopefully then I'll start seeing some posts.
I love teles.
I used to think that Strats were the only way to go, but nothing quite goes BRAAAAANG SPLAOW BRRRRRWWWWW like a tele.

The thing with telecasters is that they often don't make it beyond rhythym guitar status in most major bands. The only guitar hero I can recall that rocked a Tele was Jimmy Page.
My tele is my favorite guitar, bar none.

I guess it depends on your criteria for guitar hero. Clapton, Harrison, Joe Strummer, Springsteen, all Tele users at one point or another.
I love mine, chunk missing and all. It's not the answer to every song, but when it is, nothing else will do!

Springsteen...he's...different. I wouldn't grant him hero status. Same for Strummer, not quite there.
The thing is, even JP isn't famous for the Tele. It's all about the 59. With the exception of The Boss and Strummer, the tele isn't strongly associated with any of these players.

For the most part teles have been country music guitars
Watch an old Hee Haw or Grand old Opry vid, and the lead electric guy has a tele, always
I effin love mine

Roger Daltry looks like Dr. Cox from Scrubs in that video.
Oh yeah, tele is the guitar of choice in that arena. They can do so much more though.
I love mine as well.

My drummer and I played a house party last night, and it was the Tele I was rocking.
There were a bunch of musicians there. One guy had a blue Epi LP, and my old bandmate showed with his acoustic Fender (the possibly-hot one)
But the Tele reigned. Partly because they brought such little amps, but partly because the Tele is teh greatest guitar ever created for mass production, especially mine

Im ready for a Rick
I put the hall-of-shame 80's Arion flanger pedal in the loop last night. That piece of shit is awesome in limited doses (@ 60 seconds per night)
I think I'm still a little drunk

sounds like a great night!
Was fun, we've been rehearsing so we really mopped the floor with all the sloppy pick-up stuff that was going on
You know when that one girl at the party wants to get up and sing 'Me and Bobby McGhee'? And some guy who doesn't know it plays it...
The ending of that song cannot be fucked-around, it was a train wreck
I love scantily clad Halloween dancing girls

I love pick up jams like that
You wanna know how gay I am?
I do the Dave Mathews version of "All along the watch tower" in Bm Dmaj, then medly it into "Fade into you" by Mazzy Star and then "Wicked game" By Chris Isaak, all in teh same key. Drunk girls cannot resist that bait and switch.

Hey, that's pretty gay!
I used to like pick-up jams in the southeast because everybody there can effing play their ass off
It is admittedly a lesser aspect of the culture here

I love pickup jams. That's like a staple for me.... i didn't think it was different anywhere else.
I don't do much southern rock, but hell I'll solo over anything.

Dude...Fenris...tell me when you have shows and I'll come to them bro!
This was one of those Let's-just-show-up-and-see-if-we-can-play house parties -- wasn't sure we would even go on
if it was an actual gig I would have said come on

FUCK!! I just fried that Arion flanger. Fucking electric in this house is haywire.
Had one amp in the wall outlet and the other in a power strip, and as soon as I stuck the jack in the flanger -- POP!
Shocked the shit out of me and filled the room with this cordite/ozone smell
The circuit board has a big burn in it underneath two capacitors where it appears to have arced

It was a $20 dust-covered pedal in the bottom rear of the store's used-merch case, no huge loss, I'll try to fix it and maybe learn something
It would be nice to have David Gilmore's ability not to sweat like a sprinkler on stage

If I ever get married, I want the wedding registry to look like this:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/WishList/WishList.aspx?wlid=140425
Was tempted to mark it NSFW given how much guitar porn there is in there. :-)

I got most of the way down the page and had to close it
It was just too much to take!

Yeah, you're right...I'm going to have to marry a REALLY hot chick with a REALLY rich dad.
OR a really UGLY chick with REALLY rich GRATEFUL parents...
Oh and I like how every item on that list is a 'level 2' priority - love to have
Anyone have experience with one of these? I really want one, but would like to hear feedback about it first.

That's the default apparently. I was too lazy to change anything. I just wanted to test out their wish list function.

Never played that model specifically, but I REALLY don't like Ibanez. Maybe I've just had bum luck...but I wasn't impressed at all.
I'd spend 50 bucks more and get that Fender Stratacoustic. They just dropped the price again...I'd say it's worth taking a look at.
I was less than impressed with the one stratocoustic I tried
It was too tight, none of that nice full acoustic roar, just this tinny little backpack guitar sound
Maybe they're supposed to be plugged in, but then what's the point?

I guess if you are looking for a hybrid instrument that would be the point
To me the ideal would be an acoustic that has the tonal flexibility of an electric
Whereas this seems like an electric with all the tonal limitations of an acoustic

I'd rather have a "real" acoustic as well, but looks like he's looking for something to transition from one style to another. So, I figured that might be a good start. if you can stand to play a traditional shaped guitar, for the money I can not possibly recommend a Seagull enough. About $300 - $350 on sale, a little less used when you can find them. They really are the best guitar for the buck in my opinion.
I have 2 Ibanez guitars and have to hold myself back from buying more - can you not give this gutiar a try at the store or do you have to order it?

i have an ibanez acoustic/electric and one of the things that i love most about it is.. it doesn't have that 'dampened' sound. it sounds like a normal acoustic, full bodied and all when not plugged in, and still sounds good when plugged in.
Just got the downlow for my gig on the 14th. Those chumps have put us last on the bill, playing at 1AM. We probably won't even be playing to the other bands since it's our first gig and we're on last.
We've decided we're just gonna let it rip and wail on it it till they tell us to stop.

The upside of closing it down late is whoever is left in your audience may be there to actually listen
Unless they're just too drunk to leave
Unless they're just too drunk to leave
And it's pretty much a given that any woman left that late is hoping she gets to do you. So there's that. :-)
There is that:) They might have to contend with my girlfriend who is also the bassplayer however.
It;ll be good times I'm sure. Even if noone's there' we're going to go for it and have some fun. Might take it a bit more seriously if people are there.
It's also the afterparty for the Buzzcocks who are playing accross the road so we might get a few stragglers from that.
One thing's for sure: if anyone from any of the other bands think they're gonna be using my gear, they are sadly mistaken.

Dude. Just tell your girlfriend that there is nothing more rock and roll than two chicks at the same time. NOTHING.
/NOTHING!
//Except 2+X chicks at the same time where X > 0.5
///0.5 allows for midgets...which is as rock and roll as you can legally go.

Getting a mod done on my Bluebox at the moment to take care of the huge volume drop you get on that pedal when you stomp on it. Looking forward to being able to place it after my pickup booster pedal in the chain wher it rightfully belongs-_-
