Even better is why do coupe versions of cars cost 30% more when there's 40% less material. Same car, 2 less doors.....

Unfortunately Seattle isn't really gun friendly and there's only 1 shooting range that I know of and it's in Redmond. (Wade's) Good place but they don't have any of the cool/rare guns available to try. The FN Five-Seven looks badass but at $1000 I can kind of understand why it's not in the rental case.

Wade's has had a bunch of accidents, shootings and suicides over the years. Not the safest place to shoot. WSI was much better but they closed down a few years ago. The Renton fish and game club is a good place to shoot near Seattle, but they don't have any rentals. They do have a 200yrd berm and steel plates though.

Wades also tends to rip people off if they don't know what they're doing. I've seen guns there that are marked at 50-250% of market value. I've had the staff tell me that something was a "rare custom shop limited edition that's out of production" only to find out it was a totally vanilla production model still being made that I could order from the factory at a fraction of the price they were asking.

IMHO, they're bullshit artists trying to rip off the unwary.

The FN Five-Seven looks badass but at $1000 I can kind of understand why it's not in the rental case.

It's not in the rental case because it's not legal for civilian use in this country. (at least not the real 5-7 that uses the SS190 ammo, I think they might have released a version in a much wimpier caliber that is kind of a gray market thing but almost totally impossible to actually get a hold of) In fact I don't even think it's legal to import for non-LE.

Plus nobody would put a gun that rare in a rental case.

The smaller it is, the more intricate and precise the parts have to be.

The FN Five SeveN is perfectly legal. The reason ppl think there is a a ban is because of a self-imposed "ban" by FN, scared that some anti-gun people would target their company.

You can legally own a 57 provided you use the designated civvie ammo, which still has a ridiculous penetrating power.

75%? Army? j/k

ha. ha. ha. (j/k). Yeah i was in the Army. I hit 32 out of 40 on qualification with two misfires.

I've been debating for a long time about purchasing one. I know I will eventually. I just miss it too much.

I'm assembling it myself from parts i've purchased. I picked up the lower receiver and buttstock assembly a week ago and my upper half should be showing up in three weeks or so.

I cant wait to shoot it.

I have about 30ish, although planning to cut back to <10 if I can bear to part with them.

My faves -
-collector's grade M1 Garand ('greatest battlefield implement ever invented'),
-Serbu BFG-50 (single-shot .50 BMG)
-Olympic OA-98 ('The OA-98 has been tested to be the best AR PISTOL in the industry')
-Glock 30 (If I had to go down to one firearm, I would cry but this would be that one)
-Ruger 10/22 (cheap to practice; $150 rifle tricked out with $500 of hyper-accurizing parts)

A bunch of unfired 'pre-ban' collector's pieces and about 5 each in .223, .45 ACP, & 30-06. And most importantly, two gun safes.

Well now....

I have a T/C Encore muzzleloader. Nice package. But I'm gonna do my homework and 'net search (once I get my act together) for a .223 Rem. barrel. The one I want is a 26" blued barrel, with no iron sights, just drilled and taped holes for a Weaver mount and rings.

I've been lookin' at scopes, but there's just so many on the market, tough choices.
