I'm saving up for a Suzuki SV650S, which I plan to get next spring. I was hoping to get a bike this year, but it just doesn't look like that's going to happen. Originally I'd been looking at older Nighthawks, but I like the styling of the SV a lot better.

I recently moved into a new place (yes this short story is going to relate). I have an older car and am generally ok with parking it outside. However I realised that there was a garage so I wanted to possibly get a space in it just to save myself the hassle of scraping my car in these MN winters. So I go down there with teh lease lady and am chatting with her. Turns out there are spaces with some parking spots for a motorcycle. And they happaned to have one open. And its no extra charge.

$35 a month and I can park a bike and a car down there.

Yup, had an experienced Journeyman to come to the house and tack it back up. As a bonus, he reinforced the left side to prevent any copycat action.

Dude, it's a British bike, it was MADE for rainy shitty weather! :)

That's a nice looking bike. Have you seen Triumph's new modern classics line? They're beautiful, but pricey, from what I understand.

Thanks, the problem is I had to dump my girlfriend to get the thing. I think it was a good trade off.

I like cruisers, but I think that for right now I'd like something sportier- while I'm still young enough to not mind the more aggressive riding position. One of the reasons I like the SV is that it's a sport bike, but it's laid out with a lower seat and higher handlebars, for a more upright ride. Add a gel seat and you can ride one for hours at a stretch.

When I do go for a cruiser, I don't think I'll go with a Harley, though, for a couple of reasons. For one thing, around here EVERYONE has one, each one with louder pipes than the one before, and all the riders wear the same swag, dealership t-shirts with leather jackets ("wannabe colors"). Since the Boomers in the suburbs discovered them, the prices have gotten stupid, and now it's hard to find a decent one for anywhere close to what it's actually worth.
