This works fine for me on iTunes 9.0.2.
- What browser are you using?
- Which image are you trying to drag?
- Where are you dragging it to in iTunes?
complaint with itunes = have not found the delete all cover art button yet, I want those 4 gigs back on my ipod
yeah, I know, I've already solved the problem through a more laborious and time consuming manner.
Yeah, seriously.
Cover art would be nice if I could afford 64 gigs for an extra $200 (which is horseshit)
but I can't, I'm poor.

it's kind of hard to explain to some people why it's more important to me to have say...2000 songs in 320 on a ipod(cough travel HD cough) than 12000 songs on the same device.
You know the look of non-understanding on a total level that I am talking about, even if you have not had any experience remotely related to what I describe above.

Could you explain the above again?
You'd rather have 2,000 songs in 320? What's 320?

The bit rate?
Ah, okay.
I didn't know people actually used 320.

I have shit headphones now so anything above 192 sounds the same to me.
but back when I had some really good Shure in-ear jobbies (before they broke, ugh) I at least convinced myself that 320 sounded great.
and then i'd use em when it was -30 outside, and the wires would become completely stiff. one day they just snapped.

192 is the best compromise that I have found
between size and quality.
between size and quality.
I only have 8300 songs :\
I at least convinced myself that 320 sounded great.
I don't believe people can hear the difference between 320 kbps MP3 and raw CD/WAV/AIFF audio.
I've never seen a double-blind test done with it,
but I don't believe there is an audible difference,
unless maybe if you're on drugs.
192+ kbps is suitable for 90+% of stuff,
though I prefer 320 to ensure it sounds perfect.
without derailing too much, i kind of agree with CH - there's too many other variables that will affect the quality of your sound for bitrate to make a difference in most cases. 192 all the way.
I'd be willing to take that test CH.
I'm probably not the average iPod user since I work with music as my profession but their is definitely a difference between 192, 320 & 44.1/16bit. CD quality isn't even that great but if you switch between them on good headphones/speakers you can definitely hear the difference

i only listen to flac files on my 15000 dollar receiver with 1000 dollar headphones in my acoustically tuned room that i had professionally done

A dome, right?
Any other shaped room, you're just wasting your money

oh yeah, i can definitely tell the difference between 192 and 320, and all i've got is some $80 sony earbuds, if i had say some Ety's, Shure's, or UE's then i could probably even tell the difference between 320 and lossless
sure, it doesnt make much of a difference on a song that only has vocals and then 3-5 musical parts, but the more instruments and definitely the more digital effects you add, plus the technical proficiency of the percussionist and that's when you really start to be able to hear the difference, so a symphony track at 320 and then lossless, you'll be able to tell the difference, but a green day track, probably not

I chased that rabbit for a while. These days it's 192k VBR on Etymotic ER-6i's on my iPod. At home I rarely have the luxury of listening to headphones so I sold the nice ones I had (for almost no $ loss, thanks niche market). Most of my music at home is in FLAC though, because hey, why not.
192 works for me and i's music crazy.
- firefox 3.5.3
- i've had problems with multiple image types, GIS previews, when i actually 'view image'
- the 'get info' menu, either on the artwork tab for individual songs or the main 'info' tab for multiple tracks
NEW PROBLEM
while i had previously posted that my latest battery had become worn down, i realized this morning that it's different this time- my machine simply clicks off and quits randomly. the battery meter was still over 75% full and i wasn't given a 'you are now running on low battery' warning.
any idea what the deal is? is this batter corrupted? would this be something the apple store would work with me on, even if i am no longer under my 3 year applecare umbrella?

I have some rather high end headphones, and I occasionally play music on very large and loud speakers powered by very large amplifiers, and instead of keeping everything separate, I have to make itunes as good as I can in case some itunes encoded tracks get mixed in with normal non-drm'd tracks that I have.
I understand that not everyone is in such a position, and indeed, cover flow is a pretty cool interface when it is full instead of just ? marks.

not to mention the cover art screen saver built into os x
Mike, sounds like your battery is done.
How far outside APP are you?
If it's not much, you might be able to plead your way into a replacement.

app ended in august. i'll head in to the store this weekend and put on me charms.
MM- I don't use the screen saver I just sleep fast. did not seem to make a giant difference in "waking up" time for me.

I don't use any of the screen saver "do stuff" settings, when my computer is left idle for an amount of time that would cause a screen saver to engage, instead, it goes to sleep. On this particular rig, sleep to wake and usefulness is a few seconds, maybe 5? Screensaver to wake is 3 seconds. so I'm going with the one that is using less power.
But damn, that mosaic of the album covers looks pretty sweet on my gf's mbp
copy that. sometimes i find myself staring at it longer than i should.
Maxell ear bud headphones from Big Lots. $5 a pop.(seen same at best buy for $20) So I bought 4 of 'em.

MacHeist is having another big bundle,
but this time it's all FREE!
I grabbed everything they offer because hey, why not.

Also, I just set Mail up to handle RSS feeds,
and it's working pretty slickly:

You can even have new items show up in your inbox along with everything else.
(also, I uploaded that image with the TinyGrab app, which seems pretty sweet for Fazed-type stuff)

I use Transmission for whenever I need to download copyright free, public domain pornographic material.
If I use it in the background, as I navigate the intertrons, everything becomes incredibly slow. My DL speed drops from 1,5mb/seconds to a mere 10k. Both Firefox and Safari stall as if this was 1989.
What can I do.

Lower the upload speed in transmission to like 20k instead of unlimited
i could get a mac mini with a dead display port and install os x on it from another mac if i hook the hard drive up externally right?
then set it to boot off the drive, install vnc or something on it
put it back in the mini
and be good to go?

Yep.
You don't even need to install VNC,
as OS X has VNC built-in.

Hey man, I just wanted to thank you publically for helping me out with this plug. It fit perfectly!! The 8 shape fit in the B shape so no modification needed.
I also wanted the fazed community to see your artwork and penmanship:
