This works fine for me on iTunes 9.0.2.

- What browser are you using?
- Which image are you trying to drag?

it's kind of hard to explain to some people why it's more important to me to have say...2000 songs in 320 on a ipod(cough travel HD cough) than 12000 songs on the same device.

You know the look of non-understanding on a total level that I am talking about, even if you have not had any experience remotely related to what I describe above.

I have shit headphones now so anything above 192 sounds the same to me.
but back when I had some really good Shure in-ear jobbies (before they broke, ugh) I at least convinced myself that 320 sounded great.

and then i'd use em when it was -30 outside, and the wires would become completely stiff. one day they just snapped.

I don't believe people can hear the difference between 320 kbps MP3 and raw CD/WAV/AIFF audio.
I've never seen a double-blind test done with it,
but I don't believe there is an audible difference,
unless maybe if you're on drugs.

192+ kbps is suitable for 90+% of stuff,
though I prefer 320 to ensure it sounds perfect.

without derailing too much, i kind of agree with CH - there's too many other variables that will affect the quality of your sound for bitrate to make a difference in most cases. 192 all the way.

I'd be willing to take that test CH.

I'm probably not the average iPod user since I work with music as my profession but their is definitely a difference between 192, 320 & 44.1/16bit. CD quality isn't even that great but if you switch between them on good headphones/speakers you can definitely hear the difference

oh yeah, i can definitely tell the difference between 192 and 320, and all i've got is some $80 sony earbuds, if i had say some Ety's, Shure's, or UE's then i could probably even tell the difference between 320 and lossless

sure, it doesnt make much of a difference on a song that only has vocals and then 3-5 musical parts, but the more instruments and definitely the more digital effects you add, plus the technical proficiency of the percussionist and that's when you really start to be able to hear the difference, so a symphony track at 320 and then lossless, you'll be able to tell the difference, but a green day track, probably not

I chased that rabbit for a while. These days it's 192k VBR on Etymotic ER-6i's on my iPod. At home I rarely have the luxury of listening to headphones so I sold the nice ones I had (for almost no $ loss, thanks niche market). Most of my music at home is in FLAC though, because hey, why not.

- firefox 3.5.3
- i've had problems with multiple image types, GIS previews, when i actually 'view image'
- the 'get info' menu, either on the artwork tab for individual songs or the main 'info' tab for multiple tracks

NEW PROBLEM

while i had previously posted that my latest battery had become worn down, i realized this morning that it's different this time- my machine simply clicks off and quits randomly. the battery meter was still over 75% full and i wasn't given a 'you are now running on low battery' warning.

any idea what the deal is? is this batter corrupted? would this be something the apple store would work with me on, even if i am no longer under my 3 year applecare umbrella?

I have some rather high end headphones, and I occasionally play music on very large and loud speakers powered by very large amplifiers, and instead of keeping everything separate, I have to make itunes as good as I can in case some itunes encoded tracks get mixed in with normal non-drm'd tracks that I have.

I understand that not everyone is in such a position, and indeed, cover flow is a pretty cool interface when it is full instead of just ? marks.

I don't use any of the screen saver "do stuff" settings, when my computer is left idle for an amount of time that would cause a screen saver to engage, instead, it goes to sleep. On this particular rig, sleep to wake and usefulness is a few seconds, maybe 5? Screensaver to wake is 3 seconds. so I'm going with the one that is using less power.

But damn, that mosaic of the album covers looks pretty sweet on my gf's mbp

I use Transmission for whenever I need to download copyright free, public domain pornographic material.

If I use it in the background, as I navigate the intertrons, everything becomes incredibly slow. My DL speed drops from 1,5mb/seconds to a mere 10k. Both Firefox and Safari stall as if this was 1989.
