Twenty most excellent movie villain pumpkins.
Something I've done a lot of for Wizard and ToyFare magazine were these mash-up comic strips where I'd take popular genre characters from comics, sci-fi, and draw them in the style of a classic newspaper comic strip. Most of the gags and strip ideas were generated by the editorial staff and I was just hired to illustrate them, but a few were ideas I pitched myself. They were pretty fun and emulating (or at least doing a passable likeness) of the original art styles was a real challenge.
"The Empire has a legion of loyal soldiers that are in endless supply." -- Darth Vader
Until their day off, that is.
Birgitte is a beauty expert, image consultant, model and social-commentary painter. Through various mediums, she helps women empower themselves in three areas of their lives: beauty, body image and relationships. (Quite possibly NSFW.)
A collection of impressive and clever billboards.
Please describe the project.
In the 4D Gallery main room, I’ve constructed a 22 ft tunnel out of plywood that leads into the project room. There is no way in or out of the project room except for this tunnel. As you travel through the tunnel, it gets smaller and smaller, making it so that you have to crawl and put yourself in a submissive position in order to reach the tunnel’s destination. At the end of the tunnel the subject will find me waiting in the project room and I’ll try to the best of my ability to overpower and rape the person who crawls through.
If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.
I found this both amusing and beautifully poignant.
Amazing new time-lapse artwork, by David Ellis and Blu.
This is the story of how I met my wife, Jaime. On the night of our wedding, it was projected on a big screen for all of our friends and family. Since then I've been getting many requests for this video and it's my pleasure to share it with you all! ENJOY!!
Now I'm sharing it with the fazed community!!!
An R2D2 model, turned into retro gaming shrine, including a head-mounted projector.
This virtual city map seems to be a way to track special events and activities, at least in New York and San Francisco.
This Left 4 Dead mod is a lot more terrifying than you'd think.
An artist uses Google Street View to virtually travel to destinations around the world in order to find inspiration for his paintings. Pretty neat stuff!
Fifteen of the most creative and/or unusual beds out there.
Sand Animation by Kseniya Simonova from Ukraine's Got Talent.
In the depths of northeastern India, in one of the wettest places on earth, bridges aren't built - they're grown.
These paintings by Dan Lacey, also known as The Painter of Pancakes, shows his portrayal of the president of the United States in a series of unique paintings. Lacey’s artworks can also be ordered as posters at Dan Lacey’s blog.
I made these pieces at El Segundo and Manhattan Beach. The time-lapse sculptures typically take around 2 hours. The stop motion ones usually take 6-7 hours. I usually don't use any tools when I work. I shoot with a video camera, but it is possible to do the same work with any digital camera. My website has more images of the sand sculptures.
Jazz Pianist Eric Lewis, an astonishingly talented crossover jazz pianist, sets fire to the keys with his shattering rendition of Evanescence's chart-topper, "Going Under." (The faces he makes are just a bonus!)
And if you're still in a piano type of mood, check out Jennifer Lin's piano improvisation. Absolutely stunning!
Awesome promo t-shirt that was given out at Comic-Con.
Creating pictures using different varieties of rice plants.
A series of landscapes painted from video games. These aren't from screenshots I found online; I navigated around inside of each of the games until I found a composition I liked, and then made a painting of it. I certainly spend more time in games than wandering the idyllic countryside.
...is another man's "Metal Fucking Rats With Heart Shaped Tail, 2007".
British-born and -based artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster skilfully skirt the boundaries between beauty and the shadowier aspects of humanity, playing with our perceptions as well as our notions of taste. Many of their most notable pieces are made from piles of rubbish, with light projected against them to create a shadow image entirely different to that seen when looking directly at the deliberately disguised pile.
Next, on Stop Motion Hump-day:
This is my senior project at Savannah College of Art and Design. Where my idea comes from is that every time when I am busy, I feel that I am not fighting with my works, I am fighting with those post-it notes and deadline.
One of the most original wedding invitations ever. Well done, sir!
At first glance, it looks as if some natural disaster has shaken away the walls of these buildings to reveal architecture hidden for thousands of years.
And at second and third glance, it looks like that too.
A really great painting titled, "Discussing the Divine Comedy with Dante", image mapped with titles and Wikipedia links.
It's been a while since we've seen one of the "creative editing" clips. This one is a welcome return, I think. An epic trailer (4:30) for an epic movie.
Last year we published a picture gallery showing the progress of wacky artist James Kuhn, who promised to paint his face with a different design every day for one year. Well, he has now finished his year-long challenge.
